Artist Statement (spring 2011)
These are fragments. My process shifted from the think tank of academia to the
solitude of my bedroom. The quiet space in my nomadic studio lends itself to muted
tones on an intimate scale. These panels are meant for clearing of mental clutter. The
debris gathered over the years from the settled dust that was constantly stirred up
during the relentless pressures of an undergraduate career. I am beginning to see
symbols that I have created which begin to narrate the fragments of my life.
